Please stop by Longfellow Elementary School with all registration documents to register your child for kindergarten. You can find about more about Getting Ready for Kindergarten or call the school for the required information. Parents/guardians of children who will be five as of September 1, 2018 must enroll their children in kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year. HCPSS is now offering parents the opportunity to begin the enrollment process online, followed by completion of the registration process at your child’s school. Parents/guardians are not required to register online and may elect to complete the full registration in person. Tue, 02/06/2018 - 11:26amThe Longfellow Regional Early Childhood Center (RECC) preschool program is making preparations for classes for the 2018-19 school year. These classes include children with and without disabilities. The program’s focus is helping all children develop communication, literacy, math, problem solving, motor, and social skills. Parents of children who will be 3 by September 1st or 4 years of age may contact Cecilia Booth or Sue Brown in the school office for an application package beginning February 15. All applications must be returned by the last Friday in March. A limited number of openings are available for children without disabilities. Children are selected based upon screening information given on the application form and the “Ages and Stages Questionnaire,” as well as observations of the child’s participation in a playgroup. Stop by the front office, choose a snowman tag from the bulletin board, wrap your new gifts and secure the snowman tags to the gift. Place the gifts in the designated bin in the front office. Grocery gift cards are also appreciated. All donations are due by Tuesday, December 19th.
