Field Day Rescheduled to Friday, May 10

Based on the weather forecast between Thursday evening and Friday, we have decided to make the call regarding Field Day. There a significant chance of heavy rain on Thursday evening and storms are also possible Friday afternoon. As a result, we will plan to have Field Day next Friday, May 10th.

LoES and Howard County Public Schools (HCPSS) value your input and partnership in supporting the academic success of your child. Longfellow's Makerfaire is coming on Thursday, March 21 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Student maker projects will be on display. There will also be lots of projects to make and learn about at the Faire such as slingshot cars, plastic fusing, erupting paint, paper circuits, and zoetropes. Their work is included in the Howard County Second Grade Showcase of artwork in the Department of Education Gallery. The work will be on display through April 11. If you are at the Board of Education, take a look at all of the excellent work completed by second grade artists.

It is the goal of the Department of Special Education to provide high quality special education services in a consistent and collaborative manner. As a department, we are always looking for ways to improve our services and we value your voice. One way you can support our work is to complete The Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey. We will utilize the results of this survey to develop action steps toward continuous improvement. You are valued partners and we look forward to receiving your input.
